A warrant has been issued for the arrest of an Illinois man accused of stealing from McCook County State’s Attorney Mike Fink.
Tyler Massengill, 23, of Peoria, Ill., is charged with third-degree burglary for entering Fink’s hoop barn — an open-ended structure that can be filled with farm implement — with the intent to commit a crime. He is also charged with three counts of petty theft for taking a bale spear attachment, a mobile home hitch and scrap metal, according to court documents completed by Deputy State’s Attorney Roger Gerlach.
The burglary charge is a felony and carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine. The theft charges are misdemeanors and each carry a maximum penalty of one year in jail and a $2,000 fine.
