If you’re a new or beginning farmer and have some questions or concerns for the U.S. Department of Agriculture, USDA Deputy Secretary Krysta Harden has a session for you.

By: Agweek staff report,

If you’re a new or beginning farmer and have some questions or concerns for the U.S. Department of Agriculture, USDA Deputy Secretary Krysta Harden has a session for you.

At 2 p.m. (Central Time) Feb. 24, Harden hosts a Google+Hangout to highlight what USDA calls its “commitment to new farmers to build the next generation of agriculture.”

The session will be the first in a series of outreach and education efforts focusing on new and beginning farmers. After the Feb. 24 Hangout, farmers will be able to tell USDA what they’d like to see in future sessions.

The first session also will feature farmers from Illinois and Oregon.

Participate in the Hangout on Monday by watching it live on the USDA Google+ page or on usda.gov/live. Submit discussion questions in advance via the G+ Event page, Twitter, YouTube or Facebook using #NewFarmers.
