Dunn County Sheriff Dennis Smith is asking for the public's help into the investigation of three horses being shot Sunday morning.

The incidents happened in the towns of New Haven and Sheridan, which are located in northern Dunn County.

According to initial reports, Rhonda Abbuehl of E2478 1450th Ave. reported her horse being shot and wounded in the rear quarter. Rose Ellsworth of E2117 County Road V reported a horse was shot in the head and killed, and Denise Stuber at 13019 490th St. said that a horse of hers had been shot in the front quarter and killed.

Smith said all three animals appear to have been shot from the roadway and that other animals in the fields were not. No similar reports were identified in the area.
