Letter: Passers-by went out of way to help

On Saturday, April 11 I was traveling on Highway 85 with friends to attend a funeral in Williston. Just north of Belfield the back tire blew.

We came to a stop and proceeded to dig for the jack and spare tire. Within three or four minutes two drivers stopped to help us. One was Gary, who had his family, including his dog, wait patiently in their car while he went to work to help us.

The other was Dustin who drove an oil truck. Both were from Dickinson and they didn’t leave us until our car trouble was solved.

This incident made us realize what great communities we have in North Dakota and people who are willing to go out of their way to help others.
