The schedule of events for Farmfest, Aug. 6 to 8 in Minnesota’s Redwood County, is as follows:
•9 to 10 a.m. — Bryce Anderson and Todd Hultman of DTN/The Progressive Farmer, speak on grain markets and weather; Wick Building.
•10 a.m. and 2 p.m. — Minnesota State Patrol Vehicle Inspection demonstration, Nuss Truck & Equipment (Booth 1033).
•10:30 a.m. to 11:50 a.m. — Farm bill status discussion: U.S. Reps. Collin Peterson, Tim Walz, both Minnesota Democrats; National Farmers Union President Roger Johnson and others; Wick Building.
•12 p.m. — Ag Jamboree, Lynn Ketelson, Linder Farm Network, with “Uncle Roy & The Boys.”
•Daily at 1 p.m. — Pedal Pull for children ages 4 to 11; Gate 2.
•1:15 to 2:45 p.m. n Renewable Energy Policy forum; panelists include U.S. Sen. Al Franken, D-Minn., Dave Frederickson, Minnesota Agriculture Commissioner, and representatives of POET, Great River Energy and the Minnesota Corn Growers; Wick Building.
•3 to p.m. — Managed Drainage for Ag Production, Water Quality forum, with state and industry specialists; Wick Building.
•5 p.m. — show closes.
•6:30 p.m. — United Pullers of Minnesota, a state organization of the National Pullers Association, stages a biodiesel tractor pull, at the Redwood County Fairgrounds. Tickets are available at the fairgrounds starting at 4 p.m., and are $15 for adults, $10 for children ages 6 to12, and free for children age 5 and under.
•8 a.m. — Farm Bureau pancake breakfast, free for first 1,000 attendees.
•9 a.m. to 10 a.m. n— Market Analysis, Mark Schultz, Northstar Commodity Investment Co., Minneapolis.
•10 a.m. and 2 p.m. — Minnesota Highway Patrol vehicle inspection; Nuss Truck (Booth 1033).
•10:30 to 11:50 a.m. — Viewing Agriculture from News Media Perspective, panelists from newspapers, radio and online; Wick Building.
•Noon. Noontime Ag Jamboree repeated.
•1 p.m. — Kids pedal pull repeated.
•1:15 to 2:45 p.m. — “How We Raise Our Livestock — Who Should Decide?” with pork, cattle, turkey and dairy representatives; Wick Building.
•3 to 4 p.m. — “Irrigation Regulations and Permitting;” Wick Building.
•FHR Farms Fertility Program: “Tools of the Trade” with Jeff Littrell, president of FHR Farms, and Keith Schlapkohl, vice president; Wick Building

•10:30 to 11:50 a.m. — “Opportunities in Minnesota Agriculture,” representatives from the state, pork, FFA, as well as foundations and universities; Wick Building.
•Noon. Noontime Ag Jamboree repeated, including an auction with proceeds to the state 4-H scholarship fund.
•1 p.m. — Kids pedal pull repeated, Gate 2.
•1 p.m. — Free Watermelon Feed, Minnesota Farmers Union.
•1:30 to 3 p.m. — University of Minnesota Farm Family of the Year, with more than 70 honorees.
