One tough Cookie

Feb. 7 was just going to be like every other day for Caroline Cook.
“I’m not going to have a whole lot planned,” she said. “It’s just going to be another day.”
However, for friends and family, this past Saturday was a cause for celebration for the one they called “Cookie,” as she turned 80-years-old.
Cookie has worked in Ellsworth for nearly 50 years, as she started as a waitress for Sonny’s (now Furlong’s) in 1960. She then became a cook and lasted there until 2000, where she moved to the present-day Bobby Lee’s building, where she’s been ever since.
“I’ve had good people that I’ve worked with,” said Cookie. “It doesn’t seem like it’s been 49 years.”
