Gov. Jack Dalrymple presented Ronald D. Offutt with the Theodore Roosevelt Rough Rider Award. It is given to North Dakotans who have achieved national prominence.

The ceremony was held in Fargo on Thursday at a chamber of commerce annual meeting.

Offutt is founder and chairman of the R.D. Offutt Co., which is a large potato producer, and the RDO Equipment Co. RDO is a network of John Deere farm machinery dealerships.

Dalrymple says Offutt is also generous with his time and money in civic projects.
