FARGO, N.D. — The Agriculture Department says dry, warm weather is needed to ensure the health of North Dakota crops.

The agency says in its latest crop and weather report that a week of rainy weather bolstered soil moisture but hampered field work. Farmers are still trying to finish the seeding of many crops, especially durum, which is less than two-thirds planted.

Stockwater supplies are rated adequate to surplus statewide, and pasture and range conditions in North Dakota are 82 percent good to excellent.
