BISMARCK, N.D. — As spring flooding persists in many rural areas of North Dakota, Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring is urging farmers, ranchers and homeowners to guard against floodwaters coming into contact with pesticides and fertilizers.

He says all such chemicals including anhydrous ammonia tanks that could be affected by flooding should be moved to safer places.

Goehring says ranchers also should move feed supplies to avoid having them contaminated or swept away.
