BISMARCK, N.D. — CHS Inc. says it plans to build a large grain loading elevator in North Dakota and upgrade another facility.

The Minnesota-based energy, grains and foods company says it has a preliminary agreement for construction of a shuttle train loading elevator in place with Farmers Union Elevator Co. in New Salem. It also has expansion plans to accommodate 110-car trains at its Lakota facility that operates under Lake Region Grain.

The projects are part of larger CHS plans over the next year and a half that include facilities in Montana and Nebraska.
