South Dakota soybean processing plant closes
ST. LAWRENCE, S.D. — An $18 million soybean processing plant that began operating near the eastern South Dakota town of St. Lawrence a little more than a year ago has shut down.
ST. LAWRENCE, S.D. — An $18 million soybean processing plant that began operating near the eastern South Dakota town of St. Lawrence a little more than a year ago has shut down.
On-Hand Development Corp. Executive Director Joe Fiala tells the Plainsman newspaper in Huron that a sheriff’s sale was held Dec. 28 at the Hand County Courthouse. He says the lone bid came from a Brookings bank that is the primary lender on the facility.
Fiala says the plant employed about a dozen people.
