SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — South Dakota’s row crop harvest is about wrapped up, thanks to a week of nice weather.

The Agriculture Department says in its weekly crop and weather report that 97 percent of the corn for grain crop is in the bin. That compares with only 26 percent last year at the same time when wet conditions hampered the harvest.

The South Dakota sunflower harvest is 89 percent done. That also is ahead of the average pace.

Cattle in the state are rated 89 percent and sheep 88 percent in good to excellent condition. Feed supplies are rated 98 percent adequate to surplus.
