KAYLOR, S.D. — A grain elevator in Kaylor that was damaged by fire will be rebuilt.

The Yankton Press and Dakotan newspaper reports that the blaze Sunday night could be seen for 20 miles.

Grain manager Lance Thury says the elevator lost its scale, offices, feed mill and 20,000 bushels of storage. The elevator also lost 8,000 bushels of beans and 3,000 bushels of corn.

Thury says the elevator will remain in operation and should be able to accept grain when the bulk of the fall harvest hits.
