LINCOLN, Neb. — State agriculture officials say the wheat harvest is almost finished in Nebraska and 85 percent of the state’s corn crop is rated good or excellent.

According to the National Agriculture Statistics Service, the only wheat left to be brought in is in the Panhandle. Some 80 percent of the crop is in, about the same as last year at this time.

The statistics service said 62 percent of the corn crop rates good and 23 percent excellent.

Soybean conditions were 61 percent good and 20 percent excellent.

Irrigation is under way but limited because of mostly adequate soil moisture. In some cases, dryland fields were said to be indistinguishable from irrigated because of ample precipitation.
