Durbin meets with Illinois farm chief

CHICAGO — Washington is hearing from Illinois farmers.

The Illinois Farm Bureau president met there recently with U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin of Illinois.

Durbin’s office says the two talked about homegrown biofuels and tax credits for biodiesel and ethanol.

Durbin’s office says farm bureau chief Philip Nelson wants the biodiesel and ethanol tax credits extended.

Durbin says Midwest biofuels can help reduce America’s dependence on foreign oil.
