The Agriculture Department on Friday said the forecast is 59 million bushels, unchanged from the June forecast. The crop would be 8 percent smaller than last year’s.
The projected average yield of 50 bushels and harvested area of 1.18 million acres also are unchanged from June.
South Dakota spring wheat production is forecast at 61.65 million bushels, down 5 percent from last year.
Oats production, at 6.48 million bushels, is down 1 percent.
