Colorado corn harvest for grain forecast to be higher

DENVER — The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s latest forecast says Colorado corn producers intend to harvest 1.2 million acres of corn for grain this year, up 22 percent from last year.

DENVER — The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s latest forecast says Colorado corn producers intend to harvest 1.2 million acres of corn for grain this year, up 22 percent from last year.

A USDA report released Wednesday said Colorado corn producers planted 1.35 million acres of corn this year for all purposes.

The USDA says that nationwide, an estimated 87.9 million acres of corn have been planted, up 2 percent from last year.
