KAYCEE, Wyo. — Two Johnson County landowners have reserved 2,240 acres of rolling prairie lands for protection under a conservation easement.

The Wyoming Stock Growers Association says the land is part of the Powder River Ranch and Fourmile Creek Ranch east of Kaycee. The area supports livestock as well as wildlife including mule deer and whitetail deer.

A conservation easement is an agreement not to develop a piece of land.

Kevin and Judy Lund agreed to the conservation easement through the Wyoming Stock Growers Agricultural Land Trust, a program of the Wyoming Stock Growers Association.

The land trust was created in 2000 and has conserved more than 112,000 acres of ranch lands in Wyoming.
