LINCOLN, Neb. — The U.S. Department of Agriculture will be surveying Nebraska farmers next month to get a better idea about the ag landscape.

LINCOLN, Neb. — The U.S. Department of Agriculture will be surveying Nebraska farmers next month to get a better idea about the ag landscape.

Joe Parsons, who leads the Nebraska office of the National Agricultural Statistics Service, says the mid-year surveys will help people plan better.

Parsons says farmers and others working in agriculture need to have accurate information about what’s being planted and what commodities are being stored.

The information gathered in the June surveys also becomes part of several national USDA reports, including the annual acreage and quarterly grain stocks reports. Both of those na-tional reports are scheduled to be released June 30.
