COLUMBUS, Ohio — A pregnant cow had motorists craning their necks along two busy interstates in Ohio less than an hour before she gave birth.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A pregnant cow had motorists craning their necks along two busy interstates in Ohio less than an hour before she gave birth.

When a rancher stopped to secure a trailer he was using at about 2:20 p.m. to take the Black Angus to the Ohio State veterinary hospital, the animal escaped along Interstate 70 near I 71 and downtown Columbus.

After a chase through a wooded area and about 15 minutes, police and the rancher returned the cow to the trailer.

The rancher had been taking the cow to Ohio State because it was having trouble giving birth. But an 80-pound female calf named Miracle was born 30 minutes after the cow arrived at the hospital.
