Wyoming streamlines ag fuel tax exemption renewal

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Wyoming is trying to make it easier for agricultural operations to renew their participation in the state’s Gasoline Agricultural Exemption Program.

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Wyoming is trying to make it easier for agricultural operations to renew their participation in the state’s Gasoline Agricultural Exemption Program.

The Wyoming Department of Transportation’s Fuel Tax Administration Program provides a credit for gasoline purchased for agricultural operations if it’s purchased from a Wyoming licensed distributor or importer.

The credit is equal to 70 percent of the gasoline license taxes imposed by state law on bulk gasoline purchases.

Under the change, renewing applicants don’t have to provide comprehensive lists of vehicles and equipment using the fuel or where the fuel will be stored.

Rather, they will only be required to note any changes in those listed items during the previous year.
