Dion Van Well’s primary market is Superior Farms of Denver.

Founded in 1963, Superior Farms today has revenues of more than $80 million and has more than 300 employees. According to online sources, Superior Farms was the first company to successfully vacuum-pack lamb in the 1970s.

On its Web site, the company promotes that one of its programs is “naturally” raised lamb. The company says this means the meat is minimally processed with no artificial ingredients.

The company is employee-owned and is in the retail and foodservice industry and has customers including Wal-Mart, Publix Super Market and Jewel-Osco. It has four manufacturing and distribution facilities in Boston, Denver, Dixon, Calif., and Vernon, Calif.
