It’s pro rodeo action at its best as the Red Horse Ranch Arena brings the 5th Annual Red Horse Ranch PRCA Rodeo to Fergus Falls. This year’s event is set for August 13-15.

Rodeo action begins at 8 p.m. nightly with gates opening at 5:30 p.m. The public is encouraged to come early to check out a variety of vendors and enjoy delicious food concessions and beer gardens.

“Tough Enough to Wear Pink” night will again kick off the action Thursday, August 13 with fans and participants decked out in pink to show their support of breast cancer awareness and education. Two dollars from each ticket sold will be donated to the Lake Region Hospital Foundation Cancer Care and Research Center. Organizers are hopeful that this event will continue to grow and empower people to make a difference in the fight against breast cancer.

The Fergus Falls High School band will open the event.

The Wild Cow ride will be a part of Friday’s show and the kid’s Mutton Bustin’ competition will highlight Saturday. The RHRA is pleased to announce that Tommie Turvey, Jr., “Equine Extremist”, will be the specialty act featured all three evenings. Tommie Turvey, Jr. is well known in the industry for his amazing horsemanship and stunt riding tricks and is sure to be a real crowd pleaser.

In addition to the clowns and specialty acts, the PRCA rodeo always features the country’s top rodeo athletes competing in bareback and saddle bronc riding, steer wrestling, calf roping, team roping, barrel racing and America’s favorite, bull riding.

The prize money is tremendous. The Red Horse Ranch Arena facilities are among the finest in the country and the hospitality is second to none. The RHRA outdoor amphitheatre provides the perfect rodeo setting with unlimited seating. Bring a blanket or a lawn chair and sit hillside or in the bleachers. Everyone is invited to dance to Silverado each night following the rodeo, included with every ticket.

The 2009 PRCA RODEO is brought to you in part by Viking Coca Cola, Frontier Powersports, Nelson Auto Center, Wild 104.1, Lake Region Hospital Foundation, KVRR FOX TV, Signworks, Hexum Building Corporation, Bobcat of Otter Tail County and many other community partners.

Tickets are on sale now at RHRA, BJ’s, Olson Oil, online or at the gate. More information can be found at www.redhorserancharena.com.
