A shop and its contents were destroyed by fire this afternoon at Hietala Lumber Co. in rural Aurora.
The fire call came in around 12:30 p.m., according to the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office. The Lakeland Fire Department was dispatched along with several other assisting agencies, but the building and its contents were totally destroyed, according to a news release from the Sheriff’s Office, which is investigating.
Firefighters were able to keep the blaze from spreading to other buildings, and there were no injuries. Damage is estimated at $500,000.
