North Dakota grape growers to meet

Members of the North Dakota Grape Growers Association are gathering in Carrington on Saturday for their fourth annual meeting.

CARRINGTON, N.D. (AP) — Members of the North Dakota Grape Growers Association are gathering in Carrington on Saturday for their fourth annual meeting.

Scheduled speakers include researchers from North Dakota State, Iowa State and the University of Saskatchewan.

North Dakota's wine industry has been growing in recent years. The grape growers group says the state's seven wineries want to buy more North Dakota grape and fruit products, and more growers are needed.

The association currently has 107 members from both in and out of state who grow 43,000 grape vines on about 100 acres.
