The Jamestown Rural Fire Department responded to a fire in a grain dryer reported in Eldridge, N.D. The fire was reported just after 7:15 p.m. Monday.

Ten firefighters and four trucks responded to the fire at the Country Grain Cooperative Elevator in Eldridge for about 2 1/2 hours.

The elevator likely lost about half of the dryer’s corn, said Rick Woehl, assistant fire chief, but damage to the dryer itself was minimal.

“I’m sure they’ll probably have it up and running tomorrow again,” he said.

The cause of the fire is unknown, Woehl said.

No injuries were reported.
