Rural Minnesota man dies in grain bin

GAYLORD, Minn. — A 75-year-old rural Winthrop man was found dead in a grain bin Monday afternoon at a residence in Alfsborg Township, about seven miles southwest of Gaylord.

Sibley County authorities say they were called about 3:30 p.m. Monday and told that Jerry Wannarka was buried in corn.

The body was recovered and the Sibley County medical examiner’s Office is investigating the cause of death.

Gaylord is about 29 miles north of Mankato.
