Minn. food shelves to get donation from farmers

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Gov. Tim Pawlenty and representatives of pork, soybean and milk groups will announce a donation to Minnesota food shelves on Friday.

Minnesota Farmers Helping Families will make the donation to Hunger Solutions Minnesota.

St. Paul-based Hunger Solutions represents food banks, food shelves and commodity programs.

Joining the governor at a Capitol news conference will be representatives from the state Pork Board, Soybean Research and Promotion Council and Milk Producers Association. Agriculture Commissioner Gene Hugoson will also be on hand, along with the head of Hunger Solutions Minnesota.
